Currently we are not accepting any submissions of real weddings in the High Country. Check back soon to hear more about submissions for the 2024 edition.
*The North Carolina High Country encompasses the northwestern corner of the state and includes the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, Linville, Grandfather Mountain, and more. (It spans Allegheny County to Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey counties, and also includes Mountain City, Tennessee.) For a map of the area, click here.
At the High Country Wedding Guide, we’re devoted to local High Country inspiration and love to feature a variety of weddings. We especially love weddings that are simple yet sophisticated, with thoughtful and meaningful details.
To submit a real wedding, please email editor@highcountryweddingguide.com with the following:
• Link via Dropbox, Two Bright Lights or other online gallery with about 100-150 high-resolution images* (at least 900 pixels wide, 72 dpi)
• Dropbox folder labeled with your company name and the name of the couple
• Please do NOT send images as email attachments
• Credit for all vendors involved
AND
• A brief description of the wedding
Part of a couple’s wedding story is the team that got them down the aisle, from vows to their sparkler exit from the reception. As a guide, we strive to introduce newly engaged couples to these superior vendors (and venues) that show off the best of the High Country. When submitting your event, please share the complete list of vendors—venue, planner, photographer, caterer, attire, rentals, music, lighting, florals, specialty transportation, etc.—for crediting.
Note: Before sharing any event or wedding, obtain written permission from the couple, and ensure they will be available for our writers and fact-checking staff to contact in a timely fashion.
Other publications and blogs often include the High Country on their pages and sites—who can blame them? It’s gorgeous here and talent abounds! However, to ensure that we are serving our readers well by bringing them fresh material, we prefer to publish weddings, events, and content that has not been published elsewhere.
