It might be April Fool’s Day, but you can trust us when we say that this Southern wedding is positively delightful! Taylor and Matt married at River Run Farm in Banner Elk which boasts over 30 acres of pristine High Country fields, vistas, and a half mile frontage of the Watauga River. The natural autumn colors of the venue worked well with Taylor’s vintage style including plum colored bridesmaids, baby’s breath bouquets, and, cowgirl boots! Our favorite detail from this Joy Davis Photography affair, however, would have to be the mint colored ceremony doors marked with a hand painted sign reading “Give Me Your Forever”. We’ll wait while you Pin that to your Pinterest boards…

So get your weekend started right with this dreamy High Country wedding!

Today, we’re sharing an expanded look into our stunning cover shoot from the 2016 guide! Captured by Wayfaring Wanderer, this photoshoot, aptly named Indian Summer took place during that magical time in the High Country when Summer is on it’s way out, but Fall has not quite arrived yet–a time that offers moderate temps and later sunsets perfect for weddings.

To showcase the beauty of this time in the mountains, a talented team of vendors got together at Teepee Village in Banner Elk and produced this magical styled shoot for all of us to enjoy…

To celebrate this chilly three-day weekend, we’ve got a big dose of High Country beauty to share with you today. From the lens of Common Dove Photography comes this bridal inspiration shoot appropriately titled “Whimsical Woodland Bridal Session”. Jess of Common Dove took her bohemian styled bride down to a babbling mountain creek in Blowing Rock for an etherial photoshoot showcasing her delicate flower crown and dreamy Halston gown. We love how the images have a healthy balance of romance, elegance and playfulness! After all, doesn’t rock jumping in a wedding gown sound amazing? We think so!

The HCWG blog will be featuring more beautiful shoots and weddings like this throughout the year from now on as we anticipate the next year’s wedding guide! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@hcweddingguide) to keep up with the latest posts!

The 2016 High Country Wedding Guide is out and about and inspiring High Country brides already! One of our favorite pieces of this guide is a story called “Capture the Beauty”. This piece is a location guide to the most beautiful and romantic spots in the region for those drop dead gorgeous engagement and wedding shots. Because, let’s be honest, if you get married in the High Country, you better have some images that show off the natural beauty of this place.

Featured to is Rough Ridge. Located not far from Grandfather Mountain at milepost 302.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Rough Ridge is one of the most popular trails for visitors because it only takes a short hike (about a third of a mile from the parking lot) to experience breathtaking views. These Michelle Lyerly images are proof!

For more details on this stunner of a spot (and tips on the best and least crowded times to go) visit the digital 2016 guide here or request your free copy today!

The 2016 guides are hot off the press, but before they hit stands, we’re going to take a look back at our stunning cover shoot from last year’s guide. Appropriately titled “Wooded Bliss”, this stunner of a styled shoot designed and flowered by Kelly Perry of Philosophy Flowers stole our hearts from day one. So take a break and soak up every gorgeous image by Boonetown Story…
